I may not get this 100% correct, but Braxton said that Huff recruited him to come play and win a championship, not to come play at Marshall. The words seemed odd at the time I first heard them, just felt that there wasn't a true difference. But the more I think about it, the more I understand why Huff is out the door, the comment sums it up for me.
And week after week after week, the players kept talking about Hufff promoting creating value for them individually by ...... I think that is true, and the collective result was a victory for the team.
All just odd now, or just regular college football now; glad the Marshall print was large enough for audiences to see on the tube...

Some players love the coach more than the school. You can see examples of that even at Marshall. Jason Williams following Billy Donovan to UF and a couple of players followed Donnan when he left for UGA. I once talked to a former NFL punter who played at EKU who told me he was from Oklahoma. I asked him how he ended at EKU from a Oklahoma high school and he said that he wanted to play for a "winner". I think he said he has never been back to Kentucky since his final game. He apparently left the campus after the final game.
