  • We have no answer inside Sorry!!!! That is the missing link. Beyers, Bennett or Sustic will not give you anything close to what Peneva gave us. At least not this year. That is just the truth.

Peneva isn't an all word, unreplaceable player. Jesus. He blocked shots out of bounds and scored 12-15 a night. Peneva wasn't our problem tonight, it was our guards making what? 4 or 5 field goals?

Not saying all world. But tell me who we have playing that position right now that is even a third of what he was. If you dint think him not being here is a huge set back then ih well. There is nobody on this team this year that can guve you his production that plays his position. Unless you move jannson there and start george at the 4. That may be ourbrst bet this year but i worry about jannson getting in foul trouble.

Weird...I thought we lost because of the refs.

I would absolutely use that lineup. Our best 5
    West
    Elmore
    Burks
    George
    Williams

    Watson
    Kinsey
    Beyers
    Sustic
    Bennett

We have a 6-7 man solid team, and it drops off a bit after that, but i like our starting 5 above. Sustic and bennett are just bodies at this point, i know that will change eventually, but we need it to happen soon, because next year, replacing Jon and CJ is going to be far more impactful than Peneva. We will fall off a cliff next season.

Once again, if you don't realize the impact the refs made early, you don't know basketball very well, and thats ok. We would have lost this game either way with our shooting woes, but it would have not been so embarrassing.

  • It sucked/ Terrible game. Decent Herd turnout. It was half full but it is 18,000 seat arena.

Byers and Kinsey need to get better as the year goes on. West is fine against most teams we play but Kinsey needs to step up his game.

Williams is a beast. Wasn't scared at all.

Only November. Need to regroup. They took it on the jaw tonight.

Peneva made the stupid decision to chase the $ and it bit him in the @ss, time to move on. He was a decent player but certainly replaceable.

  • We got our butts kicked , simple is that , fortunately , the season isnt over yet. I bet Maryland would have given Duke a game tonite .

DD may slip up and say something about the officiating tonite , he should .

I dont see Iran contributing for at least a couple years . Im sure he gives his all in practice but he has some work to do.

I said it last year.  Danny needs to go out and recruit some MEN.  I was with a group of MU Alumni from the DMV and before tip off more that a couple looked at Maryland's size vs. the Herd new it was going to be no contest.

  • Thanks to all of you who have offered up kind words for Jannson’s play tonight. We knew he had it in him and thought  this might be the game. Jannson seems to play better against tougher competition and will not back away from it.....at all. He will fight all five of them if he has to... as you all saw tonight. I don’t think you would have noticed if Ajdin was there or not tonight. We witnessed Ajdin back down against the stronger competition all last year.

As for all of you who are saying that was embarrassing.... it was a disgrace...... fire Dantoni.......we suck....... and whatever else..................relax. It’s real simple.

We had our (@/:; handed to us. Suck it up buttercups. In this big old grand scheme of things called life, it was only a game. A BAD one, but a game nonetheless.

The sun will come up tomorrow...........I promise.

I live out of town.  So, I don’t get to see Herd Basketball live very often.  But, I did see the CUSA Tournament semifinal last year live.  I thought Williams would have fought all five of them during that game also.  He’s a warrior.

  • Even though DD didn't mention it(at least I don't think he did because I missed post game and follow up stories plus a lot of posts) but I believe several of them including a couple of starters was probably fighting off some kind of virus. Heard rumors before Thanksgiving that some wouldn't be able to enjoy turkey eats due to a virus. It might not have made them lose to MD but it would probably have been a better played game for the Herd.
