  • In addition to the Herd's good win today down in Miami, couple of other "noteworthy" CUSA games this afternoon.

First, Middle Tenn. and their 6th year QB, Stockstill, humiliate UAB today down at Middle.  Result means both will meet again next Saturday, again at Middle, for CUSA's championship.  Blazers only had 89 total yards and -1 rushing!!  Guess UAB's "genius" head coach, Clark, has some work to do this week!!

Definitely proves that the MTSU loss at the Joan was the Herd's most devastating of the season.  Glad to finally see Stockstill leave; unless his dad gets a good experienced replacement, juco or perhaps grad transfer, don't believe the Raiders will be pre season favorites next Sept.

Elsewhere, ODU lost in a not that close game to Rice.  Yes, I said RICE.  The mighty Owls who ended up 2-11.  Takes a little luster off the Herd's best offensively productive game in our game down in Norfolk.  And how in the heck do you think those folks at VA Tech feel, losing to ODU, which has resulted in the need for the game with MU on Saturday!!

WKU "shocked" LA Tech down in Louisiana giving the disappointing Techsters their 5th loss in a disappointing season for Skip Holtz's team.  So. Miss walloped UTEP for their 6th win and became bowl eligible.
Oh, near the end of the game, Charlotte held a slim lead over Lane Kiffin's FAU Owls.

Outside the conference, how about Herm Edwards' Arizona State Sun Devils coming from 19 points behind in the 4th Quarter and knocking off rival Arizona, knocking Kevin Sumlin's Wildcats out of bowl contention.  Glad to see it for Herm, Chad Pennington's HC with the Jets, as many pundits scoffed at his hire as HC in Tempe.  Sort of similar to the media reaction in many quarters to MU's hire of Danny D.!!

(EDIT/Update:  Charlotte held on to beat FAU 27-24, both teams ending up 5-7.  Looks like the "Lane Train" completely "derailed"; wonder if he'll still be in Boca next year?  Good for Brad Lambert and his staff at Charlotte in their swan song!!).

  • Glad to see Lambert go out with a win; he’s a good guy. A true freshman kicked a 56-yard FG for the win!

  • WKU winning final two games not enough to save Sanford’s job.

    Will Bobby Petrino return?

I think if I was him, I'd take the lucrative buyout he is receiving and ride my motorcycle off into the sunset!
