They will probably claim that. But, I do think it is a crime that they do not get to prove themselves.

"Self proclaimed." Yes definitely. I just looked at their 2019 schedule. They have Pitt and Stanford out of conference. If they can get past those two it may well be self proclaimed title #3 for them. But no way they are they ever getting into the playoff.

Everyone on this board may disagree but I liked what the UCF AD did and continues to do.  He has a lot of the country talking about UCF and I thought it was a great marketing ploy.  It was definitely not the PC way of doing things and I think his brashness has paid dividends for the program.

The committee should consider UCF but they never will under this setup. Only P5 teams are qualified for consideration for the playoff.

I can only imagine if we had gone 2 years without a loss and not be included...I think the internet would blow up...college football is broken and not as much fun and it can be directly related to conference re-alignment and the start of P5 and G5 verses just college football with regional conferences and rivalries.

I think they gave UCF a tough matchup with LSU...

They are a HUGE university so I would say yes on next expansion.

I can remember when they came into the MAC. They said it was a stepping stone and they stepped on that stone with no problem and have kept going.

Nobody who watches and follows college football can honestly believe UCF deserves in the final top 4 playoff.  Good team yes, but that top tier.
