  • Newcomers Miladinovic, Sarenac get up to speed in D'Antoni's system

    Quote
While they were successful together, it was once expected that the two teammates may go their separate ways with Sarenac committed to Marshall and Miladinovic committed to Elon.

However, Miladinovic came to Marshall's end-of-year banquet and decided to sign with Sarenac, continuing a bond that Sarenac said is beneficial to both as they enter college basketball.

Being in typical shape as a 19-old kid is one thing; being in shape in D'Antoni's system is quite another.

  • as one of the staff pointed out to me. These guys go at it for about 1 hour in each session. Since there are only 2 players out there and not 15, they get way more actual practice time than they will come late August when the whole team joins them.
Today, I consider myself, the luckiest man on the face of the earth..

  • I really think these guys will be the catalyst for taking the program to another level. What I mean by that is, first, I think they are both going to have great careers here. In turn, I think this will lead to us attracting more Euros who have their length/athletic ability.

Other 7 footers seeing Goran THRIVE in our offense and make a national name for himself will then envision themselves playing in this same offense, thus making it easier to recruit them.

Goran is the first legit big man who has come in and looks like he is ready to play immediately. Look what DD has done with others in the past. I can only imagine what type of career Goran will have as long as he keeps working hard and stays healthy.

  • After listening to Dan, I kinda get the feeling he envisions Goran as a 7-foot Penava.

That would be fantastic. I’m certain DD will work wonders with Goran.

Agreed but he is much more ready to play coming in than Penava was. Not a knock on Penava at all, loved that kid, but he was way behind when he first got here.

Except Peneva could handle like a PG. goran doesnt handle like that but has plenty of game and runs the floor as good or better than Peneva.
