  • This is why finishing 8-5 or worse each year, losing every big game, and winning sorry bowls games just isn't good enough in one of the country's worst NCAA FBS conferences.

Now I know some of you don't care how low Marshall sinks in national, state, and even local relevance, but I do.

Chris Young NEARLY has to apologize to the crowd for one of his band members wearing the WRONG (MARSHALL) T-shirt at a concert at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena...in HUNTINGTON...because there are more WVU fans there then Marshall fans. Now after polling the audience he says the Marshall fans won...but I think the WVU fans were much louder. It's sad when half the crowd loudly boos Marshall in it's own town.

We've lost our own damn city over the last 10 years...what more has to happen before we make significant changes?

  • How is hearing half the crowd boo Marshall in it's own town reaching? Please explain that?

And why is it that probably only 2 our of 10 people I meet in Huntington are Marshall fans?

And why is it that probably only 4 of 10 Marshall students are Marshall fans?

That's reaching? I think some people have their heads in the sand.

You just heard half the crowd boo Marshall/cheer for wvu at a concert in Huntington and you are cool with it? wow.

  • It's not great but not surprised. WVU football and basketball has been good the last 15 years.

  • So a large, loud contingent of WVU fans, no doubt in their usual state of some degree of drunken stupor AND with their average individual IQs of 70 or below come to Huntington and blow a lot of money in the local arena and probably elsewhere in town!!  What's the problem??

  • Guess what? If you went to Cincinnati, Buckeye fans would have the same type of number. If you went to Tulsa, Oklahoma would be the same way. If you went to Bowling Green, UK and UL would be the same. It is what it is. Chris Young is a big enough act to get people from an hour plus away in the state to come. Is what it is

  • That arena was full of people from all over WV, we have not lost our home town. But I’m sure Mike Hamrick will do his best to get us into better bowl games and conferences to enhance your concert experiences.

  • I can't imagine a worse hell than a country concert at the BSSA.

It's bad enough just being at the Union after those shows. All the hilljacks come in and play Sweet Caroline just so they can scream "Eat Shiit Pitt" to the chorus at the top of their lungs. Definitely only happens when those concerts are in town so I doubt most of the people booing at that show are from Huntington.

  • After he won that national championship with Texas, I don't blame him for not mentioning Marshall. Too bad his NFL career wasn't longer.
