  • This is how bad our offense was in the 2nd half......

    1. Pass completion to Gaines    -1 yd
    2. Sack.    -6 yards
    3. Pass completions to Henry   3 yards
    4. Penalty -5 yds
    5. Rush Knox. 4 yds
    6. Incomplete pass
    7. Sack -5 yds
    8. Pass completion to Gaines.  1 yd
    9. Rush Johnson.  -2 yds
    10. Incomplete pass
    11. Penalty. -5
    12. Rush Green.  -3 yds
    13. Incomplete pass
    14. Sack -3 yds
    15. Rush Knox     4 yds
    16. Interception.

PATHETIC.    Never watched a half that was this bad.   Kudos to the Defense that kept us in the game and actually gave us a chance to win

  • Here is what is baffling. I have yet to hear or see any shred of evidence as to why the offensive game plan changed to desperation pass attempt and conservative on 3rd down. Especially when Knox was knocking out 4 yard clips. Run him 2x pass the 3rd, see what the d gives and adjust. If the bring pressure make them pay with a quick slant or screen. None of this was done. It is maddening as to why not.

  • The OL getting punished by the Boise DL was the biggest issue. Can’t block, plays don’t work.

Knox rushing the ball. Two positive plays 4 yards each. What’s disgusting is the limited touches he got in the second half. Thanks for posting this.

Knox was 7.1 yards a clip

Our Oline was out schemed not outmanned in my opinion. When we ran the ball straight ahead they blocked very well.  But the strength of the Boise D line is their D ends, so pass protection was going to be a challenge as was testing the edges. What did we keep doing? The latter two things. I don't blame that on our Oline, I blame that on our scheme.

It all comes down to our coaching SUCKED

  • And why do we never dump off to the RB when no other pass option is available?  Not like Knox and King can't catch the ball and do their thing.  Doesn't have to be a run play.

I knew it was bad but this demonstrates the abandonment of the run game. When you become one dimensional it is hard on the oline. They played well the first half.

  • This is Friday night coaching, it can be seen every friday night at local fields. Some better some worse. It fits the mold.

The only difference is-- the Herd's HC is getting $800,000 a year where the local Friday coaching is around what $55,000-$65,000 a year?.
