  • What are the bigger towns in WV that don't have broadband access? My parents live in tiny little Itmann, WV and have high speed internet access and watch games on Stadium, Facebook, ESPN+ with minimal problems.  I think the Facebook have been an issue sometimes but I haven't heard my mom say it lately.

I prefer ESPN+ since we do a great production but I am not going to complain.  I live away from WV and don't miss a game whether I am there in person or get it on TV or the web.  That hasn't always been the case that's for sure.  there were many days during the THN time frame I didn't get to watch a game because it was only on locally and bars stopped having the big satellite dishes.  ESPN gameplan was a savior when we would get put there.  It was worth the $100 per year to record all of the games on there.

I am fortunate that I have gigibit access so games online are just like TV.  In fact I don't have tradition service anymore as I have AT&T Now which is through the internet.  99% of the time you can't tell it isn't on the satellite.

It’s a well known fact that WV suffers due to poor access to broadband/internet. Many rural counties can’t get regular service. Ask the good folks in Charleston as to why that is. Capito just spoke on this subject to a DC subcommittee not too long ago.

Areas that are 'serviced' by Frontier. Also, Comcast is grossly overpriced for broadband after any intro offers which puts broadband out of reach if all a person needs is DSL speeds, other than streaming shows or games and is unwilling or unable to pay the freight.

  • CBSSN has announced a package of basketball games with the MAC, WCC, and CAA. None of which mention Facebook. I think it's safe to say a lot of C-USA basketball will be relegated to their Facebook page.

I know it is a well known fact.  I just know my family is in little ole Wyoming County where nothing is left and they have broadband.  Has anybody been to Mullens or Itmann lately?  It is about as rural as can be.

I don't disagree that there is a problem.  I am just asking why can somewhere like Itmann have it but other rural counties don't?  A cell phone won't work at my parents house even if you walk out on the porch and hold it up.   ;)

Lexy, the last time I was through that portion of Wyoming County, I noticed that their system of smoke signals worked pretty well!  ;D

Some of the most remote places got broadband internet before other parts of the state due to lack of cell service and such. Also, if it's Frontier then the internet only works half the time (at best.)
