What I really meant was to try and get them involved in a non-donating fashion.  Exactly what, I don't know.  Maybe asking them to contribute some time and/or effort to urge and encourage others to give $$$.....  you know just get involved in some way.  It might be effective if Chad or Byron or Troy were to say "Your Thundering Herd needs you" or something.

Really just some thoughts I'm throwing out there......

By all means throw it out there, Jeff.  I've been saying the same thing about those guys.  If they would just do something publicly to get the ball rolling whether it be a donation or just an appearence stating this is something we need to get done.  I think that would do wonders to motivate our boosters.

exactly wolfman.....i know personally ive felt this way, and a bunch of others have too, that we were just tired of Pruett "preaching to the choir", everytime he talked it was about giving..........and usually to the same people over and over.......it was kinda like a broken record after a while, and uninspiring after a while........bring in Chad or Byron to give the same message and look what wonders it will work.

I wonder if they could do a mini football contest as a fundraiser.  Have it at Marshall's stadium, charge $10 and have them run several different drills.  Then have them at an autograph table after the fact with a $5 donation for autographs.  All proceeds going to benefit the football program or a fundraiser for the IPF.  I'm not thinking of just the big 3 or 4 but bring in several former Herd players.  I know I'd go.

That's a great idea in my opinion.  We could maybe do follow up phone interviews with them not only to report progress to them, but also to get additional encouragement from them for people to continue to donate.... "Way to step up Herd fans, we're almost where we need to be", for example. While I understand that the fundraising would be ongoing, I believe it is important to set goals (IPF) and meet them step by step.
