I used to like to watch boxing back then , it was alot better than today . That first round was great fighting .

I really thought Hearns was going to beat Hagler. Why the two never met again after the first fight is beyond me. My cousin Dwayne Cooper who's from here in Huntington, trained and sparred with Sugar Ray Leonard for the Leonard, Hagler fight. Doing the sparring sessions with Leonard, Dwayne knocked Leonard down and Sugar Ray said, it was one of the hardest times he had been hit. Dwayne was a Golden Gloves and National champ. Unfortunately, he got caught up into an addiction that cost him his life. I'll see if I can't upload the film of Dwayne sparring with Sugar Ray. I have pics to share as well..

I remember that. Was the accident off Rotary Park?

Yes, Dwayne was trapped in his car for two days , he ended up in ICU for about a week but survived.. ....here's a few pictures, Dwayne, wife, and kids with Sugar Ray after the Leonard, Hearns fight...The other picture is my cousin Marvel "Sweet" Hill who was a light heavyweight champion in WV.. Marvel fought pro and sparred with Rocky Marciano.. I'm still looking for the sparring video of my cousin and Sugar Ray..
