  • What is wrong with you people?  What don't you understand about what Prez Mike has said?  The series is on.  Period.  PENDING the NCAA approving the 12th game for each year.  There's nothing hidden about that.

Really?  Because besides a little inuendo and talk that they would LIKE to see it happen and that it hinges on the 12th game being approved, I haven't seen the press release.  So what are the dates of the games then.  Is it home and home?  2-1? 3-1?  Where is the first game played?  Much like the rumored series after the '97 game, if it isn't in legal form, the series isn't a done deal.  period.

  • Big Green.

There hasn't been any innuendo.  If you know Mike, you know that he doesn't mince words about anything.  He said, on TV, that the series was arranged pending the NCAA approval of that 12th game.

No announcement will be made UNTIL that approval is given.  Why would they?

Mike even said that it was so "done", that the last couple of times he's met Prez Hardesty, they didn't even talk about it.

He has not, as far as I know, talked about details.  I've heard that it will be 2006 in Morgantown, 2007 in Morgantown, then 2008 in Htgn and home and home after that.  But that didn't come from Mike.

  • I think it'll never be any better than a two for one, or a 4 for 2, of a 6 for 3.  Pick a denominator and roll with it.

How can it be done and yet not have the details worked out?  They can't.  This is about a "done deal" as Landon said CUSA was in 2001.  Until the details are done, they have an agreement.  An agreement to work to get it done.  But it is not done.

  • Yep.  You're right.  You know more than the Prez of MU.

And, it will be a home and home, but not for the first couple of years.

actually, it's INTERIM President.  and please be kind enough to show me where I stated I was smarter than the Prez?  I said it wasn't done like you claim.  I'm still waiting for you to show me proof that it's complete.  Otherwise, it's not done.

Of course if the INTERIM President doesn't know the difference between an agreement to work it out and a signed legal document spelling out all the details, then maybe I am smarter than him.

Take this for what it's worth, which isn't much.  But I was told by someone whose son works for the team that one of the reasons that Pruett was leaving now was he found out that it wasn't going to be a home/home right off the bat and Pruett knew he'd never coach a game against the Mounties in Huntington.  Not saying it's the only reason; only one of them.  And again, not stating this as 100% fact.  Just telling you something I heard.  I didn't post it earlier but since you brought up the fact that the series may be in Morganhole for the first few years, I just thought I'd mention it.

  • The NCAA Management Council meets and will vote on the 12th game April 11 & 12 in Indianapolis.

You're only partially correct in saying the NCAA already approved a 12th game.  12 games are only allowable in years in which 14 Saturdays fall within the typical game-playing period (the next time this occurs is in 2008).  The new rule would allow 12 games in all years, regardless of the number of Saturdays.
