  • I didn't know it, but learned yesterday that Brennamen's wife is from Ashland and they get back this way quite often.

I also read that she’s a Marshall alum.

  • I can remember getting in the closet and listening to my pocket transistor radio so my parents would not be bothered with Reds or Beatles.  Marty and Joe were my favorite announcers.

  • Marty will be missed. I'm not too fond of Thom. I always feel he is trying to be like his dad instead of carving his own niche. Sometimes, I think he tries to get too controversial. JMHO.

There was no way he was surviving this.  It wasn't like a slip of the tongue, like saying sh!t on air.  It was complete phrase which indicated he has very derogatory views about LGBTQ persons -- people the Reds would like to sell tickets to, and their advertisers would like to sell products to, and to all their friends and family who love them.  You can say whatever you want as long as you don't mind losing customers.    He broke the capitalist playbook and was appropriately forced into retirement.  He should have learned that from loudmouth Marge--not even owners are immune to the capitalist playbook.

  • I know a lot of of Herd Fans are also big Reds fans. This is sad for me personally as I feel like something that was left from my childhood is ending. Me and my Dad spent a lot of Summer nights listening to Marty and Joe on AM radio. The Reds weren’t on tv every night of the week like they are now.
