  • Not a Reds fan but he did play for my Colt 45's & Astros for eight years. Always enjoyed watching him play.

  • It has been a rough year for my boyhood heroes...little Joe, Tom Seaver, Gibson, Brock, Kaline, Ford plus stars like Bob Watson, Glenn Beckert, and Jimmy Wynn. I don't know if this is a heavy year but it sure seems like it.

  • First of the Great Eight to pass.

So many great ones passing lately.
"On rainy days, the early justices would enliven case conferences with wine. On other days, even if the sun was shining, Chief Justice John Marshall would order wine anyway, saying, 'Our jurisdiction is so vast that it must be raining somewhere.' "

Yep, was doing the "run through" in my mind about the "Great 8".  Joe is the 1st to pass.  He was my brother's favorite player.

Sad about the great ones passing.

Morgan, Perez, Bench are in the Hall, Rose would be "but for," Concepcion should be, Griffey, Sr. and Foster have a good argument.  Poor Cesar Geronimo is the odd man out but he was still a very dependable player on the Big Red Machine.

I seen where Jay Johnstone of the Dodgers, who was our biggest rival  passed away as well. RIP Joe and to all who have passed on..

  • Is he the first guy off the 75-76 teams to pass other than the great 8? I hated to hear this and wouldn’t have thought he’d be first because I had no idea anything was wrong with his health. Rose, for example, could go any time and I wouldn’t be shocked at all.
