In Conference USA’s format for this season, teams with the same number of losses that are within one win of each other are tied, meaning the host would go to the top-ranked team among the college football computer rankings.

There are five rankings in use this season: Colley Matrix, Anderson & Hester, Wolfe, Sagarin and Billingsley.

Marshall was ahead in all of those rankings by double-digit margins heading into this weekend’s play, making it a virtual lock for the Herd to be host if UAB wins....

...With one loss in league play, Marshall would host the two-loss Roadrunners.

Sadly we hear that about every week but we always manage to upchuck on the field and be disappointed. But you are correct!

I would prefer to see MU play UAB, but as long as MU hosts, it's all good.

By a lot of uab wins bc they have less time and need to travel.  Holliday can’t win this one send him packing right after.  No excuses.  If it’s the same uab as in the past couple years he will be the best passer we have seen since UCF and nc State Findlay.

We lose Friday, it will be a collasol meltdown and likely the biggest choke job in the history of Marshall athletics. Ranked 15th and undefeated two weeks ago and ending the year with two losses and losing the league title? Ouch? I will gladly eat Crow.
