  • Interesting post on the Bobcat board. Prior to the game a poster said last year Kinsey was the best player on the floor during warmups but once the game starts not so much. Needless to say that did not age well!!

  • It's early in the season, but so far, this looks like Danny's best team.

I agree. He has had better offensive teams but this team is much better on defense. West, Kinsey and Taylor can really guard out front. And we now have the depth up front to play small or bring IB and Goran in for size and bulk. Plus Obinna is really athletic and moves his feet great defensively. Plus we aren’t mainly a 3 point shooting team but more balanced.

As you said at least this early in the season.

DD's past teams have always been marked by noticeable improvement as the season wore on.  If this team shows even half the improvement as the typical DD team as the season progresses, they should be very good by the time tournament time arrives.

I'm optimistic for the end of the season.  I’d be more optimistic and excited about things if this were a more normal year.  With this being the year of 2020 things keep turning so damn crazy at every turn that it’s increasing hard to look four months down the road and expect whatever normal is to happen.  But there is cause to hope and even believe good things will happen.  With what everyone has been through that’s a ray of hope.

I’m actually a bit surprised we are playing this well this early. I knew we could be good but this is his best overall team. And like you said Dannys teams always get better. And I actually think this team could get a lot better. We know West and Kinsey bring it every night. But I think Taylor is starting to be getting comfortable and realizes what he needs to do. Also Obinna is going to really improve his game with as many minutes as he is getting. He works really hard and moves great for a big. Beyers and Williams just need to work on all the little things and not worry about scoring because it will come. Just play good D, rebound and cut down on mistakes. Goran had a ton of potential and I really think it’s going to totally click some day and he will be hard to pull out of the lineup. Defense and depth is making this team go. And if we ever start shooting the 3 ball well, look out.

  • Being able to bring in George and Beyers off of the bench to replace Williams and Obinna is proving to be a huge asset.  So far this season, it’s been a step up in most games. And Goran is the 3rd big off the bench?  That’s impressive depth. I think Early and Marko will need to provide more minutes as the season progresses.  Fun season so far!

Agree. Danny has more depth than ever during his tenure.  More importantly, it appears to be quality depth.  Meaning that he may be more willing to sub more guys more often.  But that means to the players, IMO, that if Coach puts you in you better bust your butt to produce, because there are a lot of others on the bench he can sub for you.  Translates into good competition on the team for PT with all players, starters included, knowing that you'd better hustle when on the floor if you want to stay there for a while!!

  • Taylor no-look pass from 20 feet into the lane for an easy score was nasty.
