This should be a conference game. This is what college football is all about.

A shared geography. Knowing the other teams fans. A big loud crowd.

TONS of ECU AND App State graduates here in Charlotte.  Many of those in the stadium probably drove 20 minutes to the game.

It amazes me that App State and ECU can put 30K-40K+ plus in a stadium in Charlotte, and our conference mate Charlotte can not put 15K in their stands smh.

I thought they got the call right. They only showed the clearest replay once on TV. App State guy had both hands on the ball going to the ground. ECU guy looked to have one.

That is a hard call to make when the call was TD in that scrum of bodies. There was no clear angle. The Appy guy had his hands on the ball with other hands all over it going to the ground. Even the announcers said they couldn?t believe the call.

Charlotte is very much a commuter school for Charlotte folk, other than the many foreign students in their Engineering Schools. The alumni did not have football when they went to school, always was a basketball school, competing very well in Conference USA when Cincy, Marquette, St. Louis, etc. were here.  Simply no tradition to build on.  They host Duke this weekend.

And the crowd in Panthers stadium on Saturday is a sell out--Georgia v Clemson.

AND the Friday night game of Duke at UNC-Charlotte is a sell out, too!  ;D

We better beat ECU at home.  Their first half was not very impressive.

On the other hand App State looks a lot better.  Their new QB is a definite upgrade.  That will be a hard game to win.  That said, IF we can beat App State it'll be a definite quality win and will get us some attention (again).

App is likely the best team on our schedule. That will be a tough one in Boone. Wasn't impressed with ECU. We limit their QB and that should be an easy win.
