The Sun Belt AD's meet on Tuesday Jan. 25, the Presidents meet on Wednesday Jan. 26.  Scheduling and this expansion are the expected topics.  It's anticipated that we'll know next week officially.

  • FWIW, the rumor is that us moving to the SBC for 2022 is pretty much done. The vote on the 26th is just a formality to make it official. I wanted to throw that out there in case you were wondering which way things are leaning.

Me too! Do you think we keep the Appalachian State game at home? You would have to think that James Madison will be on our schedule somewhere as well.

Looking forward to the new rivalries in the Sun Belt East.

  • IIRC in a very recent Landon article (I know, I know) he was talking about O'Malley deserving the AD slot and one reason was that O'Malley is very open and clarified that the upcoming vote does not affect the chance to start in the SBC in 2022.

I cannot find that article now.  One of his weekly opinion du jour articles.  Might have been the controversial article re Wells and been pulled offline?

  • I will be shocked if we aren't in SBC next year and I'm excited to start a new chapter in Marshall sports. I almost feel like we are back in the So Con but at the FBS level.....either way, I'm excited to be back in bed with ESPN.

The Southern Conference at the FBS level.  That's an interesting way to put things.  The So Conf days were some of the best for herd athletics in my time following the Herd since about 1970.  Maybe that's why I'm happy with where MU is right now while still being very unhappy with developments in the world of college athletics in general.

There was interest in every opponent we played in the SoCon, our schedule had a soul.  It will soon be the same in the SBC.  This conference has schools and fans that care, CUSA didn't except for a few, and those are going with us.

    Yep...
Here's an interesting thought experiment (Unfortunately probably undoable...):
    Go to each Herdfan's house.
After taking his phone away, ask him to name the other 13 members of the CUSA.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.
