Topic: Basketball game today

I wanted to post some basketball thoughts.  I've watched a lot of Marshall basketball over the last 40 years.  This years team seems like they don't think they can win.   Maybe that happens after losing 8 in a row.

I thought the play at the end of the first half against FIU was microcosm of the whole season.  FIU gives us the ball back with 5.2 seconds left I think.  Plenty of time to get a shot off and extend our 2 point lead.  We get the pass in and Kinsey recieves almost to half court is heading to the basket.  We don't get a shot off, which is inexcusable!  FIU played terrible defense and we didn't take advantage of it.

Who knows what the rest of the season holds.  Don't think most people are optimistic, me included. 

We have played well in spurts and bad in lots of spurts.  Kinsey has played well the last 4 or 5 games.  He needs some consistent help.
Maybe that help shows up today.  I like Dan and am sure he is frustrated by his inability to turn things around.

Unfortunately, if we continue to play like we have been, we could go without another win.

We are one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the country. Most of the shots we shoot from the three are good shots, but we can?t make enough. Also, our FT shooting hasn?t been consistent. As Dan said, we have to shoot and be able to make 3s to keep teams from having their big guys packing in around the basket. One problem creates another.
