  • I talked with him in the Cam last night on my way to practice. His game story is on the site after every game

  • He has a lot more to do these days, sure hope he does it well.  But you are correct, there hasn't been much lately.

Maybe it is the website folks  not updating the site but seeing the same stories every time I visit on the front page does not look good.

  • I get nothing but background templates when I go to Herdzone.com.  No articles, no links to sports or schedules, nothing.

Should be a top priority of the new AD, whomever that may be.  Site needs to be redone, redesigned and improved overall.  Can't believe the school doesn't a quality Web Master employed to oversee and keep all University sites upgraded and "fresh" over time.  I follow a couple of comparable schools to MU from time to time, including visiting their Athletic websites:  JMU and East Tenn. State.  Overall find their sites superior overall.  One example, on the Main page there will be a calendar of upcoming Herd events, games.  Like the women's and men's games this week.  Once those games are over, they are no longer on the calendar, even the final scores.  On JMU and ETSU's calendars, once today's games are over, you can still cursor back on the calendars and find the scores, even for games played 2 or 3 days ago.  Can't do that on MU's calendar, no "cursor back" arrow to on a game from a few days ago, on the calendar.

Marshall needs to eliminate many of the tweets on the site, many often inane, and improve its overall content.

We do, and he is a former FB Manager and oversees the university site and does a tremendous job, however, I think Herdzone.com is managed by IMG/Learfield   since they do our Sports Marketing.

Yeah I looked when I saw this thread and same.  Someone seeing something else may have the site cached.  The whole Athletic/Big Green website is a giant piece of excrement.  Surely a student could do a better job.  Be a nice project for a grad student.

Well, and that's another "sore spot" that needs addressed ASAP.   Hamrick, apparently, just decided to turn much of what use to be done in house over to IMG.  Result:  there is less Marshall marketing, promotion, and as a result, "VISIBILITY" around much of the State as there has been in decades.  Radio network has shrunk considerably.  Game coverage in Southern WV is sporadic at best.  Hit or miss on the radio outlet in the Mercer County area, never know when the affiliate station just decides on the own to just no broadcast a particular game or so.  Hard to build up any audience with such a system.  Obvious IMG doesn't monitor such things.  MU sports coverage in some newspapers around the State has just vanished in some markets.  MU actually use to have a real, genuine and effectively functioning Sports Information Director.  Today, we have a lax IMG outfit, and about once a month articles by McGill on Herd Zone.   Not the same, by far.
