  • You cant be serious!!! Doc can?t win CUSA and you think he could compete in the SB? Rice shut him out and Charlotte beat him twice and he holds the top 5-6 worst beat downs at the Joan. You cant be that ignorant!!!

Comparisons with Doc are Meaningless, bust.  We are NOT in CUSA now.  We are in the SBC and we need a Coach who can compete with other SBC teams and be successful, meaning WIN a lot more times than we lose!  Our WHOLE athletic department depends on that FACT, Big Time (meaning your "beloved" basketball program too).  We cannot afford to let Huff have unlimited time for OJT (on the job training).  Remember, that's exactly how we got in this DAMN MESS in the First Place:  Hamdick giving Doc Holliday too damn much time, too many seasons, fiddlefarting around try to learn how to be a Highly Successful, Quality, and Winning Big Head Man in D1 FBS football.  We can ALL hope that our current AD, Spears, won't make the same mistake (Don't believe Pres. Smith will allow him to).  Troy's FIRST YEAR Head Coach took Huff to the coaching woodshed tonight.  And if JMU, in a transition status in their FIRST year in FBS football does the same in a few weeks, then Huff should be a pretty short leash as to his remaining time as MU's HC.  Cause right now, I can easily see a few other possible "Ls" in our remaining games, like Louisiana, Appy, Coastal, ODU, etc.  TWO FCS wins in a 4 or 5 total win season is certainly not the way Huff needs to win friends and influence people wearing the Kelly Green and White, IMO!!

  • What a difference two weeks make.   After the UND win I was truly expecting Marshall to be in contention for a NYD6 bowl.   Now, I'm not sure if the Herd will make it to a bowl game at all.  They just look like an entirely different team.  The BG loss I attributed to a let down after the big Notre Dame win.  This frequently happens.  But, tonight, I'm totally bewildered.  Maybe someone with a better football mind than I have can explain why the team lacks the crispness of execution on offense and smothering defense that we saw in the South Bend.  It almost seems to me that it is a lack of focus and maybe not playing with enough discipline as some players don't seem to be on the same page with their teammates.
Each fall I bleed two shades of green. Never forget Nov. 14, 1970.  Please consider a donation to the Jeff Nathan Sportswriting Scholarship.  Jeff was the sports editor of The Parthenon who was killed in the plane crash. I was co-adviser of the paper that year.  See details about the scholarship here: https://www.facebook.com/jeffnathanmemorial/?notif_id=1632663866180053&notif_t=page_user_activity&ref=notif

This is what happens when you spend an entire off season focusing on one game.

No disagreement here. My point is these bozos loved Doc till the end and couldn?t find a bad word for him. But they relish being able to go after Huff. Doc would have crawled up in a ball if he had a SB schedule. There ain?t no Charlottes, FIUs, Rice oh wait they shut us out!!

Bro, we had 89 passing yards.  Not on the first drive.....the whole game.  Huff=Doc

Remember bro when Doc had 56 passing yards? Or getting shut out at home by Rice? Or the top 5 beat downs in the Joan history? I?m not taking up for Huff but don?t act like Doc was better. He played the easiest schedule in the country in conference and couldn?t get it done.

  • OL was a weakness going into the season.  None of these guys besides the RT looked average in games last year.  The ol coach that left was making miracles, but our ol didn?t look good against Norfolk State.
Is Zamora our best passing qb?

Zamora is best qb on that roster. they just dont believe in playing freshman at qb

Freshman Qbs play all over the country.   If true makes 0 sense.  Play the best.

Maybe, but you don't beat Notre Dame in South Bend without having a very good football team.  However, in the last two games, particularly yesterday, Marshall did not look like a good football team.  In fact, they reminded me of the Blundering Herd of the 1960s.  There's got to be some better explanation.  I know on any given Saturday . . . but something in these last two games doesn't pass the smell test for me.  Something has really gone wrong.   The wheels seem to be coming off the Marshall Express.
