  • One more thing on this, I do wish Spears would start sending out something like "From the AD's desk" or something similar.  Maybe he does, I don't know.  But just something short like the projects with a vision, projects that are being worked on, status of projects, projects completed, etc...It would keep folks engaged, ask less questions which lead to complaints and might even get some to want to be more involved.  The 1st of every month put out an update.  JMO

The AD at JMU is very good at doing stuff like that on their Athletic Web site.  Actually will do a video presentation ever so often describing what's going on overall in JMU sports besides on the field or floor.  Projects underway/construction, projects in the planning stage, long range ideas, etc.  Hopefully, Mr. Spears is media savvy enough to do some similar things at MU.  Still early in his tenure, IMO, and I'm willing to give him some time to settle in fully and prioritize what he wants to do, when he wants it done, etc.  Pretty happy overall with how he has performed to date and certainly with the overall success we've seen by our athletics teams since his arrival!!

  • Plus I don't think Spears liked the idea of no handrails up there. And I'm starting to wonder if the new court will even be here this year.  I could have cut the thing down myself to fit and installed it by myself already. Something is starting to not sound right in all this to me.
My Mom has a hard time getting to my seats upstairs and my Dad can't get there at all. It's unbelievable that handrails have never been installed up there.

  • Well it's getting beyond ridiculous!!! The floor should be down period!!! This has been known since summer. They kept putting it off and off and then finally said it would be done while the team as at Queens in time for the first home game. Then it was said to be to big and needed trimmed down. Who in the world was over that cluster$;&$? And on top of that, how long does it take to trim it down? There is no urgency and people are dragging their feet. At least the cam got some new garbage cans that looks better so I guess it's a start!!!
My question is why was it to big in the first place. It sounds like someone doesn't know how to read a tapeline. There is no excuse that the dimensions weren't measured correctly.

You would think installing a few handrails is some huge project since it has been like that for decades. Makes no sense that hasn't been corrected.

  • Back to the game. I was reading a post on the OU board and I didn't realize OU lost their two best players to the portal, if I read the post correctly. Kent State appears to the best team in the MAC by far, they lost to Gonzaga on the road last night 73-66. FWIW some OU fans are expecting a losing season.

  • Preseason MAC poll had Kent #1, Toledo #2, Akron #3, Ohio #5, and Miami #11. That sounds about right.

IIRC, I believe one of OU's best players was a guy named Vander Ples, or something like that, who transferred to UVA, a TOP TEN program.  If he was that talented, it would have to have been a big blow to the Bobcats this season.  We wouldn't have been feeling too "warm and fuzzy" either if, say, a Taylor or a Kinsey would have left H-town either, IMO!

The Vander Plas that we held to 2 points last year? Or the same guy we held to 9 points 2 years ago? I don't think we were to worried if he was still at Ohio U.

  • I sent a couple of emails to Mike H over the years telling him that MU was going to have a lawsuit from someone falling down the upper section stairs.  I've helped dozens of older fans navigate the stairs over the years.

I also sent an email several years back.  They are going to have a lawsuit.... especially if they don't install a hand rail.

Really bust?  Good enough to land with a Top 10 team right now!  Oh, you do know that OU beat the HERD last year fairly handily, so he didn't need to contribute too much, obviously.  Guess you also don't realize, bust, that Ohio U. also lost via transfer their star guard, Ken Sears, a 5-time MAC player of the week winner.  Oh, since you're so uninformed, Sears also went to a RANKED, POWER team, currently #7 Alabama, where he is averaging about 15 points per game for the 7-1 Tide!

Try to be a little more informed, bust, before embarrassing yourself again.

Yes I saw where Vander Plas scored a whooping 3 points against JMU the other night. And he had nine points against us 2 years ago when we handled Ohio U handily. Guess they needed him that year for sure huh? So you may want to get your facts straight. Or should I say get your head out of your arse!!!

Well, didn't UVA win that game with JMU, bust?  Isn't that the important thing, bust?  Or is it that you have to go to extremes to prove you are right on every issue the important thing?  Did UVA fans obsess over a player's individual stats after a team win?  Do you go nuts, bust, after every HERD win because Marko didn't score, didn't even PLAY??  I mean, after all, it was only a season or two ago, you told ALL THE WORLD, often and loudly, what a great SUPERSTAR he was going to be!! Anyone who disagreed well, was just a "HATER"!!  Marko's performance this season to date must be tearing you up inside, bust!  Cheer up, the HERD is 7-1!!

Lmao what are you rambling about? You are the one that states Ohio must be missing him so badly and it really hurt them against us lol. I just pointed out that he has never done anything the last 2 years against us and only had 3 points against JMU. Dude, you are a mess and twisting yourself into cracked lmao!!! Then bring Marko into the equation?

That's the problem he has with blathering bust.  I mean it's hard to work in reason and rational thought while you are just blathering anything to support your agenda.

  • Bust, you simple minded IDIOT.  Read my initial post.  Saiid nothing about what an OU player did against the Herd last year or the year before.  Just stated that it probably hurt them this year because he transferred.  Just like I noted we would have been hurt if Taylor or Kinsey left!!  Geeze you and Bison are beyond DUMB. Easy to understand in his case due to inbreeding, and apparently with his toboggan covering his eyes 98% of the time.

Two players left OU for power programs that are in the Top 10 currently.  That fact has NO effect on Bobcat basketball this season, right?  Give us more of your "brilliance", guys!!  It's good for some chuckles, perhaps even expressions of pity headed your way!
