A league so evenly matched and as unpredictable from game to game as the SB in basketball? It's like nothing surprises you. Louisiana was picked to win the league and CC beat them and we beat CC by 15. JMU beat us and looked really good and then they go and lose to Texas St and then get destroyed by App St. and we beat App by 26. And JMU has their best player back now. I mean you can just keep bringing up head scratchers.

I don't know but the MAC and CuSA were generally very competitive. I don't think the sun belt will be a cake walk like many thought. It's still a grind.

It's not just the competitive part. It's teams get destroyed and then turning around and beating the top team. And it's not just once or twice. It's like you have no idea who is the best teams at this point. Usually you get an idea of who is the bottom 7 and top 7.

It?s a lot about how traveling and routine is handled going back and forth for the most part when you see things like this.

The consensus was the SB was a weak league. But it looks like a very competitive basketball conference.

But a team will get beat by 25 and look awful and then turn around and beat the first place team by 10. I've just never seen a league that is so up and down.  Morehead beat Heorgia Southern that beat us. And we killed Morehead. We absolutely destroyed App St and they just beat JMU. We Killed Coppin St and they beat JMU. CC beat preseason pick Louisiana and we kill CC and didn't even play well. I've never seen a league so all over the place as this league.

Prep - Travel & Routine are the biggest factors in this

Still contend that the KEY for the HERD is not to have any more of those WTF games at the CAM!  There are certainly winnable games on the road for MU, too, if they play as they are capable.  Louisiana down in the "Cajun Dome" won't be easy, and we'll have to guess which "Hot and Cold" Appy team we'll face in Boone.  Same applies to JMU too the last week of regular season play, when we also play another unpredictable team, ODU.

We lost to JMU due to their physical play, crashing the boards - not very usual for a road team - I think because of the risk of fouls being called. JMHO.

GA Southern, we lost in the first half by getting into a wide open transition game with minimal defense. We didn't even stop the ball many times. someone posted I think we gave up 96 points in the paint. That has got stop, especially when we go on the road again.

I'm not opposed to "Twin Towers" with both Goran and Micah on the court at the same time for sort periods. This would be possible with Fricks and Toussaint spelling one or both 7-footers. They could set some picks ( thinking primarily for TK ) moving from high to low post on both sides of the lane.

If we want to win the regular season we need a revamp of our preparedness and defensive mindset when on the road.

SunBelt is a bunch of mediocre teams that beat up on each other in basketball. Always has been this way.
