  • I took a close look at the tarp installations last night.  They ran a series of steel cables taught from one side of the arena to the other (crossing the stairs of the Herd Heaven).  As a result of this installation approach, they can't open a single section.  This installation approach was probably cheaper than trying to come up with a way to do it section by section, but the result is this is basically a permanent setup short of them deciding to reopen one entire side of the bleachers, which I guess would not happen in this environment short of them believing they could sell 6-7k tickets to almost every game....

Which is a shame, since I think demand should be relatively high for the remainder of the season.

  • The last thing needed is microphones that can pick up the crowd noise better.

You mean other crowd noise than the one person clapping right into the announcer's sound mike?  lol.  That got kind of annoying towards the end there.

  • Turning away fans, when you reduced capacity to 4500 or so taking out learfield tickets, is not good. You want those people going and having fun and wanting to continue going. To be honest, in 10-15 years literally half or more of our fanbase is gonna be dead or too old to come to games. We need as many people in there as we can get, definitely not having someone come and be told it's sold out.

The hand rail thing kills me. Better tarp off the top half of the upper chair backs too because they don't have rails.

I get it in the football stadium, because we haven't had more than 25-28k in years, barring Purdue or some p5. We didn't even sell out VT. But basketball, before covid, we had people up there.

If you want to put chairs up there then that's awesome, let's do it. But 5700 seats is not enough, and I'm glad that's the case. Love our fanbase.

I will agree. A few short years ago we AVERAGED almost 7k fan for the entire season.

I wonder what the capacity would be if we added chair backs to herd heaven? I?m guessing that would make overall capacity around 7k?

I think that?s the way to go, but just my opinion.
