His misuse two seasons ago did him no favors. He has the talent and the numbers but they don't go back deep enough so he's considered a gamble. As said, up to him to prove he is the player they want him to be.
I disagree on his 'misuse' affecting his opportunities.
1st, the issues that were exposed during that season would've been exposed anyway during his workouts or G-league combine games.
2nd, at his size if he'd excelled playing 'out of position' his stock would've risen.
