Cam Fancher is the projected starting quarterback, but he?s relatively young. He performed OK at the end of last season during the team?s late-season surge, but he?s never thrown for more than 300 yards or two touchdowns in a game. For Marshall to win the Sun Belt, it needs a bit more than game-managing performances at quarterback.

Stud running back Khalan Laborn is gone, but a healthy Rasheen Ali is a scary prospect for opposing defenses. Marshall has the pieces to run the ball effectively, although its offensive line might best be described as solid rather than elite.

  • It's year 3

    8 wins is the floor

    Go Herd!

Agree we should win 8. But do you think it's harder to win 8 with this schedule or the last 8 years in CUSA? I honestly think we have a shot at 10 wins. But schedule strength matters and this schedule is light years better than those were. This is most likely the toughest in herd history.

I agree, I have been following The Herd since the 1960's and I can't remember a more difficult football schedule. The SBC is way better than the CUSA, no comparison. We saw the results of winning a lot of games against a weak schedule in another sport, win totals don't always tell the complete story.

  • The Snide had one really tough schedule that included a drubbing at Ohio State. He really didn't need any help to look bad.

We never played tOSU with Snyder, but his schedules were insanely tough.

I'm not defending him because he sucked for so many reasons, but I'd say all 5 of Snyder's schedules would easily rank in our top 8 toughest.

Don't know for sure but I would bet from 2016 to 2021 were some of the easiest as well.

    Absolutely!

Docs first game was the drubbing at Ohio State. MU fumbled the opening kickoff and it was essentially over.
