West Virginia -- Marshall: West Virginia has never lost to Marshall (12-0), but the two last played in 2012. These programs are in two different places today. The Thundering Herd are fresh off a 9-4 season with wins over Notre Dame in the regular season and UConn in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Rival West Virginia stumbled to a 5-7 record, and coach Neal Brown has found his way on one of the hottest seats in the country. If only the two teams would play each other in order to settle it on the field ...

  • I had to post this article.  I don't want to rub it in too much, because it seems like every time i do it backfires on me.  I will just ignore them like a team ranked last in their conference should be ignored...  Nothing more nothing less!

  • Huff has a P5 roster!  From all the conferences.  This is a very big and deep team.  These guys look jacked in photos.   Haven?t seen Herd players look this physical since Pruett days.

Talking with coach Huff one on one, I haven't been this excited about a Herd team since back in the Pruett days. This team is bigger, faster, and stronger than last year's team. Of course it has to be done on the field. Other than our first game, there are no easy games. I really feel like we will go 9-3, but I'm hoping 10-2 and a conference championship.

  • If we pull out a miracle and could run the table with this schedule i don't see anyway we could be left out of the College Championship.  Maybe if there was 3 undefeated teams, but i see no other way we could be left out.  Get your extra tickets this year.  Its going to be a good one.

Getting into the College FB playoffs before they expand the number of teams may be a stretch, but I'd think that we would be a strong contender for the G5 slot in the New Year's Day (eve) "Money" Bowl Game!!!

Thats very optimistic considering the Herd offense is not even close to prolific

9 n 3 suggests a minimum of 3 wins from that ECU VT NCST CC APPY S-ALA group

    Unlikely

Well maybe i got a little carried away.  I have to control my excitement.  I think we end up with 9 or 10 wins at the end of the day.  I am ready for some footballllll!

Hey Gaylen, look on the bright side.  The "geniuses" on the WVU Board of Governors just gave the bow-tied blowhard, Gee, a contract extension.  Perhaps they'll do the same for FB Coach Brown.  For Marshall, the folks in charge of running things at the Morganhole school are just like "the GIFT that just keeps on GIVING"!!

  • Chuck Landon: Just say no to WVU-MU renewal

    https://www.wvgazettemail.com/sports/chuck-landon-just-say-no-to-wvu-mu-renewal/article_0b1a2e4f-5d3b-55a0-9f63-ba2b61bc514b.html

According to Chuckle, Marshall shouldn't play WVU because of past scores. So Marshall can play teams like ND and VT but not WVU?

  • Is there any chance BP might give Chucky a call and explain what ?anyone, any time, any where? meant?

Also Chucky shows his grasp on reality with the following comments in the same article
    Quote
It appears all new members of the Big 12 aren?t created equal.
As it turns out, the shares differ in the Big 12 for new members.
According to a recent story in the Cincinnati Enquirer, the University of Cincinnati won?t get a full revenue share in the Big 12, but the new members-to-be from the Pac-12 ? Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah ? will.
That certainly doesn?t seem fair to UCF, Houston, BYU and Cincinnati.
It isn?t much of a welcome for the new members.

Gee Chucky sees C-USA members Cinncy, Huston, and UCF as being equal to members of the PAC-12.  Little wonder why I stopped taking Chucky seriously while we were classmates in High School.

  • Smart move by the G12 on not giving full revenue to the schools that moved up from G5 to P6. I am sure those schools are happy just to be a member of the group and were willing to take a smaller share.

I have to wonder if Chuckie is also trying to protect his good buddy Dan from talk about playing wvu?

to qualify for this year's playoff, we'd need LOTS of help from our opponents.  we'd need a couple other teams in SBC to flirt with top 25 ranking.  would really help if the west division champ was ranked for the SBC champ game (top 25 match-up).  i don't think there's any hope for VT, but would need NC St to have a top 25 year.  our schedule definitely isn't the caliber of what UC played 2 years ago, & they barely got in.
