I am sorry I forgot to post the link to the first press release. That is a very impressive Master Degree program and the facility have done an excellent job of attracting top students to MU.
"The test includes 200 questions in 20 categories covering all crime laboratory disciplines as well as ethics, law and safety. Marshall?s second-year students have led the nation on this test for 12 of the past 14 years."

  • You don't have to qualify these posts with "for those who are interested."  Anyone not interested to the point they would complain about a topic they can just skip probably shouldn't be here, anyway.

  • I also saw an article about the cybersecurity program.  It looks like MU is doing some great things to remain viable and competitive!  The state supposedly is providing $24m toward the program and the facility will be built on 4th avenue and Hal Greer Blvd.

  • Fleetingly, I saw a secondary link somewhere today from a national sports writer that speculates we could end up in the ACC.  Anyone know where to find it?

  • There's also a very good recent article about the cyber security institute and program at MU in the MU alumni newsletter.  Should be available at alumni@marshall.edu.  They send out a monthly newsletter online.  Not sure if you have to be an "active" member of the alumni association to receive it.

  • The below is an interesting "donation", it shows some interest in the MU program by a potential employer.

How cool would that be if MU partnered with Fed Ex for a mechanic internship program. In addition, Fed Ex flies planes into HTS for service and repair.

  • The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) has extended the accreditation term for the Marshall University School of Pharmacy doctoral program through June 30, 2030.

The above news is going to make the poster Lord Haw Haw unhappy? He sent me an PM and was against the Pharmacy School. I wonder what happen to him. LOL

The below is interesting. I wonder if this going to create some startup biomedical businesses in Huntington?
"Marshall University and Marshall Health have partnered with Intermed Labs, a renowned medical technology (medtech) startup studio, to drive more health care innovations through advanced technologies and breakthroughs that enhance patient outcomes and foster a dynamic ecosystem for health care solutions.

Based in Morgantown, West Virginia, Intermed Labs will help the clinicians and researchers at Marshall University and Marshall Health bring their innovative ideas to life?from design, prototyping and validation to patents, presentations and publication of top concepts."

  • I've posted before on how the Osteopathic School at Virginia Tech has partnered with a hospital system, Carillion, and private investors to develop a Biomedical Research Center in Roanoke, VA, about 30 minutes or so away up I-81 from Blacksburg.  Would love to see Huntington develop something similar, with MU's Med. School facilities, new Pharmacy facility, and the University's rather new Biomedical and Engineering complex along Third Avenue, plus the Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital complexes ALL within close proximity to each other!!  The key then, to such a research complex within Huntington, of course, is to attract sufficient private capital to help finance such a project.  May sound somewhat daunting, but with someone like Brad Smith at MU's helm, I wouldn't be too quick to bet against such a project, if attempted, coming to fruition!!
