Topic: Hey Wolf, what has HerdFans board traffic been like through the years?

Really curious. I think this board's traffic can speak volumes to how healthy the fanbase is especially with the hardcore fans.

I hope you can give us some insight.

After inception I am sure it takes a few years to build up traffic that would provide any real reflection of the fan base. With that said...

When was traffic at its height? The site completely missed the glory years (as the internet was just starting to become a thing), so I assume...2013-15? Peaking in 2014?
When was traffic at its lowest? Probably not fair to count year 1 or 2 or maybe more...
When was the biggest drop in traffic? I assume after 2016.
When was the biggest increase?
Where are we at now in comparison?

You have a line graph? haha just kidding. But this data would be interesting to see to many of us, I am sure. Would be fascinating to see how the needle moved from coach to coach, year to year, etc.

I'm not Wolf, but I've been on the board since around 2004. This is my second account. I lost my login info for my original account and made a new one back in 07. I'm no board expert and have no data to back up what I'm saying, but I would say the board peaked in late 05 through 08 or 09. Those coal bowl games seemed to bring in our fans and the other guys coming to talk trash. I remember both this board and the other one being a lot of fun.

That makes perfect sense. I forgot about that. I am sure being closer to the glory years helpd as well. I bet you are right.

I suspect social media has made an impact on board traffic as well.  Now, rather than hitting the message boards for news and scoops people check Twitter, Facebook, and etc.
