  • Nice gesture to help the hungry, but I wonder what the commissioner of the AAC or Ohio U think about it.

Boca Raton, FL (August 14, 2022) ? Boca Helping Hands (BHH), in collaboration with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Athletics and Cereal4All, for the third year in a row, will commemorate September's Hunger Action Month by hosting a Tackle Hunger Cereal Drive during the FAU vs. Ohio football game. The game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. at the FAU Stadium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Those who donate one or more cereal boxes (family sized) will get a free ticket to the game. Unopened cereal boxes can be dropped at the stadium (Gate 1) on game day.

Except the MAC schools prefer cans.

  • Let's hope this doesn't lead to some ambitious politician suggesting that MU does something similar, like drop off unwrapped/unused hypodermic needles at the JOAN and get a ticket, free hot dogs, etc., etc.

  • It's in plain English, WTF.  Talking about "Needle City", where stranger things have been known to happen!

Oh, I know what the heck you were trying to say.  Have you been to Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Charleston (WV)... heck, Parkersburg lately?  They all have bigger problems than does Huntington at this point.  Not to say Huntington doesn't still have significant issues, but its made a LOT of progress.  And you can decry the issuance of needles from the Health Dep't all you want, but it saves lives.  Every single study says that - it doesn't encourage drug use, b/c the users will find a way.  In Charleston, they're sharing dirty needles with the result that our capital city is now the epicenter of an HIV resurgence that rivals the biggest cities in the country.

  • I just don't see the point of pot stirring here. We've got a good community going and there's no reason to troll. Just take it to the off topic board or literally anywhere else.

  • Being honest, when I saw the the topic title, "Ceral Drive", I thought this thread would be about a street being remaned after a FAU alum.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.
