  • 1. 4-4 came, as I had feared. 0 adjustments by Huff until the season was over with Pennington coming in too little, too late. And don't expect a big Huff resurgence, because there aren't any complete patsies on the schedule left. Arky state is our best shot at a w, followed by app. We could easily finish 4-8* Pennington could change this. More on that. .

    2. We've seen enough of Fancher. Wish him well out the door or as a WR going forward. Season is over, absolutely no reason to ever play him at QB again. Play for the future now. See what we have in cole and others. I don't read much into his performance tonight other than you can tell he is a better passer than Fancher. A week of practice and knowing he is playing will do wonders for him. As will playcalls that follow suit. You could see alis lanes open up, just from the threat of him throwing it. He had some nice passes, including that perfect last INT that bounced off the wr hands at his face down the sidelines. We don't know what this team can look like with a new QB, so there is definitely hope for getting a nice amount of real experience, going into next year and even if thr bad news comes that Huff isn't being fired (don't think that happens), we have hope, knowing a new offense and d coordinator at a minimum, is coming I would hope.

    3. Defense - you gotta replace this DC, right now. Even the commentators talked about how we were playing in the nickel and not ready for him to run the ball when that's basically all he does. Lol. Our run defense is rough, but a lot of that is them constantly being out of position. The DC is 90% of our issues on defense.

Huffs schedule luck, finally ran out. No 7-30 teams to feast on the rest of the year. No where to hide, the rest of "execution" season.

  • Cole had some nice passes.  Last one was a beauty.  But I don't see any qb being successful behind this oline and the OC is pure dog poop.

Agree with everything you said and hope Huff is fired at the end of the year.

  • Game is too fast for him at this stage. Will that improve? Perhaps it will come with experience but where Cole jumped off the ship( lower class a ball) to D1 starter is quite a reach.

Another glaring( at least to me but not mentioned much);S & C coach needs to go as well IMO. CC?s line looked fat and out of shape but pushed us around like rag dolls. We can?t fundamentally tackle even QB?s it seems. When the first reserve QB came in for them, he coulda gained 200 yds if he had been the starter alone.

I don?t post much but this was beyond embarrassing IMHO

  • No one has discussed our wide receivers.  They have a hard time catching the ball. Not good for anyone playing QB.

    That's true.
Routine catches aren't routine...plus Fancher's lack of precision causes drops.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

Yes, he played 1A ball - because his dad coached the team. He?s been practicing against FBS players for a year and a half. The issue right now is game speed, and unless you get a kid who played top level ball in Florida or Texas, that?s a big speed adjustment for anyone.

He was more of a true QB today than I have ever seen Cam be. His ball fakes, progressions, release point and timing are all better in his first action than Cam?s 15th start.  His recognition pre snap was at least as good which says something about his football IQ given his lack of reps.

  • What I feel for the rest of the season is zero wins. I guess anything can happen to make this statement false. What I know is Huff will continue to blow smoke hoping fans will hold on to every word he says. Our basketball coach has done this and he is starting to lose loyal fans because they are seeing the light. Let's hope it doesn't take as long for loyal Huff supporters to see things.

  • Give Cole game reps and see what happens. He did some good things last night. The Cam show is over.

Points scored up through NCSU. He can score. Something has happen the last two weeks. Injury? Who knows. You don't drop off that much production without a problem.

Winning teams and coaches. That's the difference.
No reason to ever see fancher at QB again.

NCST was an outlier, the rest were poor opponents or bad offense. You are also ignoring that we have defensive scores and even a kickoff TD in those numbers. We are 121st in 3rd down conversions. He is not the one.

Still don't understand why we go 5 wide so often.  Majority of the sacks come in that formation.  Keep a guy or two in to help.

Right!  You know we can't protect without a TE or RB.  So wtf are you going 5 wide?  Craziness.
