  • I am sad because I had so hoped to be in Louisville rooting on our soccer team.  I won't even watch the College Cup as it would be too upsetting to my system, especially to watch WVU.  I think Coach Grassie is the best coach we have at Marshall but in watching the Stanford match, I just did not see where we dominated Stanford as Coach Grassie stated on multiple occasions.  I know that two potential MU goals were swept off the goal line by Stanford defenders, however, I just thought we played sloppy and not up to our usual standards.  Please tell me how I am wrong.  Can't wait for Spring soccer.  I never thought I would think that!!

  • I was never a soccer guy and don't know much about it but the Herd has me watching. I had my hotel booked in Louisville. I agree, with what little I know I felt Stanford outplayed us and really once it was 1-0 I had a bad feeling about the game. That said I love Grassie and this team and will be watching any time they play.

I won't watch but in the 2 games we played them I thought WVU was the best team we played. That might have been because their coach knows our system so well, but they looked really good to me.

  • Wow, absolutely incredible volley from Clemson gives them the 1-0 lead late in the 1st half.

22 minutes to go, Clemson holding the 1-0 lead on a SportsCenter Top Ten goal.  Both teams have played a bit timid tonight.

I am not terribly impressed with the atmosphere there in Louisville, though.  Everything, including the "cheers", are being piped in. They are missing us.

  • And WVU will remain without a national championship all-time in any real team sport.

Hey 645, are you forgetting all those "rifle championships"?  You know the "sport" that about 8 or 10 Division 1 schools participate in!!

I'm sure those championships are as real to their fans as pro wrestling is to them.

First team they played in the tournament with a pulse. Their luck ends.

Even though it was totally boring I watched it. I am now relegated to rooting against people as opposed to cheering for Marshall. Sad to say we have a vacuum of leadership at Marshall, glad handing does not demonstrate leadership.
