  • I suggest everyone take a moment to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in fighting for our country's survival. If you've never watched it or have, I suggest watching "Band Of Brothers" miniseries. Huntington's own Carwood Lipton is prominently featured in the series and played by Donny Walburg. I've never understood why the city has no prominent memorial of Lipton (that I know of). If they do I'd like to know where it is. If not, that is something I would gladly contribute to vs NIL bribes.

Imagine being a college age kid parashooting behind enemy line in German occupied France at night with anti-aircraft fire all around and then enduring a year plus of direct combat and watching many of your best friends killed or maimed. God bless them all.

Here is a great clip from series involving Lipton and Ronald Spiers

"Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • Most badass generation around God Bless.  Band of Brothers is 100% the best mini series I have ever seen.  If you haven?t seen it you are missing out.

  • Another great miniseries, 3 one hour episodes
    D-Day: The Unheard Tapes.
It's a BBC production, I believe that it will be available on The History Channel.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

In that same episode Lt. Dike asks Lipton where he is from and he mentions Huntington and  how he wished he was there right now.
Carwood Lipton returned to Huntington one last time in 2001 and is buried in Woodmere Memorial Park in the Beverly Hills area.
He didn't live long enough to view the entire series but he was able to preview a rough cut of episode 7 which featured him.
