  • "Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity; they seem more afraid of life than of death"  – James F. Byrnes

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

  • The band reports to the School of Music. Who knew?
Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions.  Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.  Mark Twain

  • Question for the baseball experts here...

What impact, if any, could Marshall's ownership of the Coal Cats have on recruiting for Marshall?  I can see potential benefits, but I know nothing about how minor league teams operate or fill rosters.

First this isn?t a ?minor? league team.  It?s a collegiate summer team.  It could help in the transfer portal a lot.  Word travels fast about facilities, the area and their experience while there.

  • It is a select Wood Bat collegiate developmental league, with FOUR Marshall team members guaranteed to be on the team each season.

I like the recruiting possibilities, portal (as mentioned) and connection to the Appalachian wood bat league.  We have two Gardner-Webb players on the team now, and young men from all over the country.  There are a couple of Community College players on the team, I'm sure MU facilities have to look pretty good to them,a nd they get a chance to feel and know Huntington too.
