What's amazing about this season and wasn't mentioned much, we had 43 new players from the portal that played here. I'm sure there will be a lot of players leaving. I just hope Gipson can recruit and bring in quality players.

I mean this season we brought over 40 new players and last year it was over 45. That is the new norm for G5

GiBson we will see, he was the recruiting coordinator for wvu for Rich Rod's last class (finished 23rd nationally) and he's always been considered a good recruiter (believe he won an award for his recruiting in 2018).

But that was a different era of college and hopefully he can get his portal group and we have the resources for the revenue sharing to continue to roll in this conference.

Let's see who he brings in for his coaching staff (please do not bring back Bill Legg!!!!)

One point of clarification. The "40" players included the freshmen class. We didn't actually bring in 40 portal players we brought in 40 new players including freshmen. If you read the link below it gives a breakdown of the new players as of 2/7/2023. We did sign Stone Earl and bring him in June/July and a few other portal players late in the summer.
