I don't like to lose, and that isn't so much because it is just a football game, but because defeat means the failure to reach your objective. I don't want a football player who doesn't take defeat to heart, who laughs it off with the thought, 'Oh, well, there's another Saturday.' The trouble in American life today, in business as well as in sports, is that too many people are afraid of competition. The result is that in some circles people have come to sneer at success if it costs hard work and training and sacrifice.- Knute Rockne

You can sign anyone. They better be able to play and I don't see many yet that fits that role.

  • Some really miserable people need to take a break from the Board for a while.

Okay, break down this kid?s skill set. What are you seeing on film that makes you think he can?t contribute?

You do realize we need about 55 players, right?  This kid may have exactly what we are looking for to be a special teams sniper. Bottom line is you know absolutely nothing about him, don?t know why his stats are what they are, don?t know what his role was at Temple, who he played behind, nothing.

Don?t remember the same comments when Huff was bringing in upperclassmen OL that didn?t have any snaps or WR with nothing to show for 3 years on a roster.

I do think he will contribute to next years ball club.  Not sure our ball club will be above .500.

  • I doubt it happens, but if it does you can jump around saying how right you were.  Miserable people love misery...

Actually considering all the crap from the group who just left, I would not be surprised to learn that have a couple of folks to troll the Marshall board for a little extra negativity.

  • Def not a troll just realistic.  Yes - I can get to Huff but he?s busy flipping S.Miss.  We will talk later.

It?s nice seeing the D players but are we expecting them to score 30ppg.  Also where are the DT and DE???

  • We went into 2024 with no QB, Griffis was the best looking recruit and he bailed. We lost Porter and Abraham and 3 OL along with Ali. We didn?t know really about Turner and we?re counting on Houston working out. We had a couple of our top underclassmen bolt and had to bring in 40 new players.  We had zero known WR talent and Metcalf was the only guy with real stats coming in.

In other words, we all thought this season would be middling. Almost everyone was predicting 4-8 to 7-5. In other words - we have no idea how the team will look in September 2025. But by all means, feel free to spend the next 9 months crying about it. It puts you in an excellent light and impresses everyone.

  • A school can?t let a championship coach go somewhere else in conference for less $.  Alabama letting Saban go to Auburn.  weenie Rod to Pitt.  This was decided long ago.  Scripted

This was going to be the outcome if he wasn't hired out of here at some point, anyway.  We either fire him and he makes a big stink or he takes a lesser job and he makes a big stink.  I'd rather just exorcise the demon and deal with the fallout, which we could all do if you would just stfu about it.
