An option-style quarterback with a strong passing arm, Snyder was an All-Ohio selection at Ironton High School playing quarterback and safety. His 143 yards passing, 12 completions, and 19 passing attempts in the 1982 Division III state championship game stood as title game records until only a few years ago. He shared the 12 completions record with another Ironton quarterback, Brent Wilcoxon, who accomplished the same feat in the 1979 state title game.

For the season, Snyder was 47-of-83 (.566 percentage) for 934 yards and eight touchdowns.

Snyder originally signed with Morehead State, but transferred to Northeast Oklahoma A&M Junior College where he quarterbacked the team to the JUCO national championship game. He then transferred to Oklahoma State for one season and finally settled at Marshall University where he was a starting safety for two years.

According to the latest media guide that's not accurate - he's shown as only lettering in 1987 at MU.

Those bastards!  Let's just hope that Snyder got his own resume right.  Don't want another O'Leary.
