Listen now.  My friend in columbus told me he heard that Landon is going to be on the radio up there in a few minutes.  You can listen live on the internet.

  • He's always been kind of a joke with his quote unquote "Done Deal" statements over the years.

But the length he's gone to undercut Snyder not only during the interview process but now as the decision is at hand is remarkable. I will be emailing my displeasure of the content and nature of his reporting on the hire to him, his editor, and Mark Snyder as soon as he has an official email address.

I hope that Snyder doesn't give him the time of day once in the post!!

Plus for a person who is as wrong as often as he is I'd have to think Landon is the last person you would want speaking for if you Marcum, Pruett, or even Kueck.

Hope that they soon speak for themselves, and don't have to listen to Landon's mindless dribble.

  • Landon basically said the players really aren't behind him.  This was the wrong time for change.  With moving to a new conference, we have too much instability.  I did like that the radio guy basically put it at the feet of Bobby Pruett for retiring when he did.  The interviewer basically said Pruett put the Universitybehind the 8-ball to make his guy the most logical choice.  Chuck agreed that Coach P retired when he did to hand pick his successor. ( this is the first time I've heard him admit that).  He said there are all kinds of internal issues at Marshall that are not getting addressed such as there is no over-sight in the tutor program for the players.

In general, Chuck made it sound like Marshall just announced they are moving to Div II.  I can't remember too many positive things he said; especially about Snyder.

  • He wasn't as cutting as he's been in his articles towards Snyder, of course he was being interviewed by a Columbus station who supports Snyder. And all his allegations Marcum, Pruett, and Kueck were based on his assumptions. No sources indicated, at one point he even used the word "I assume".

Basically his recap is that we're in a world of crap everyone's leaving, low morale, Support is uncertain for Snyder.

So great to have an optimistic beat writter covering you team and representing them on the air in other markets!!

  • Ol Chuckie was in a few classes with me when I was at Marshall..alot of dead space between the ears then as a writer for the Parthenon , some things never change they only become worse with age, short of eyesight losing ones minimal abilty to think or an ability that was in all likelyhood challenged at at early age would be terrible, dont believe me , then ask Chuck how difficult it has been going through life as Chuck....

  • there are some players who don't think that much of Chuck anyway.  For Chuck to say "players aren't behind it" I would say "who specifically??

The truth is Chuck isn't behind it so he wants everyone to think everyone is on his wagon.  Based on what I've heard/seen Chuck, again, doesn't speak for anyone but himself.

Chucky boy had his wagon hooked up to Kueck from the beginning because Pruett endorsed Kueck. And he thought what ever Pruett wanted Pruett was going to get. How do we even know that Pruett stood behind Kueck 100%, no one does. But he had to support someone on his staff over anyone else first. Chucks wagon never had a horse infront of it pulling it.

Hmm, The press interviewing the press.
Burn those bridges Chuck, I'm sure Snyder is listening and will treat you accordingly.
Just seems to me Chuck is going out of his way to bash Marshall while "on the road" so to speak. If we have issues or dirty laundry, we need to take care of it, not have some blowhard go on the airwaves and broadcast it. It's fine to print it and say it here, but going on the road and doing it just plain sucks.

Chuck, you are wrong, and I think what you are doing is hurting our school and our football program.

Superior skill and knowledge win over fear and superstition each and every time.
