HUNTINGTON -- Winthrop University's run for another NCAA men's basketball tournament berth includes a game at Marshall University.Wright State, also an NCAA team last season, is another Marshall opponent for the 2007-08 season.Winthrop announced its 2007-08 schedule that has a Jan. 5 visit to Cam Henderson Center.The Eagles were 29-5 last season under former head coach Gregg Marshall, a Marshall assistant in the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons, who left to become head coach at Wichita State. Randy Peele was promoted from Marshall's staff as the new head coach.Gregg Marshall was 189-93 in nine seasons at the Rock Hill, S.C., school with seven NCAA appearances. The Eagles won the past three Big South Conference championships and received NCAA bids.Last season's team beat Notre Dame in the NCAA tournament before falling to Oregon.The Marshall Thundering Herd picked up a win at Winthrop in the 2000-01 season.Wright State also announced its schedule with the Raiders and Herd meeting Nov. 28 at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.The Raiders were 23-10 last season and won the Horizon League championship. The Raiders lost to Pittsburgh in the NCAA first round.Marshall beat Wright State last season in Huntington, 79-72.
