  • The reviewed dropped pass near the sideline in the first quarter.  If that ball is thrown correctly, it's a touchdown.  BM has completed more passes this year, but he still isn't hitting the sweet spot with his throws and it's still costing us.  OTOH, he has proably been one of the brighter spots for us this season.  I actually thought this level of play by BM would result in a 8-4 or 7-5 record.  I guess that just speaks to how poorly we've done so far.

  • Agree completely.  I was wondering if his toe affects how well he can push off and release on his passes  --  a great pass there and that would have been 6 easy points.

  • Morris is completing over 67% of his pass attempts -- in the same range as Leftwich and Pennington.  He is 19th nationally in passing efficiency.

It wasn't Morris who negated a long TD pass to Passmore with a holding penalty.  It wasn't Morris who tipped a pass that should have been caught into the hands of a Memphis defender.  It wasn't Morris who dropped a sure TD pass in the end zone.  It wasn't Morris who fumbled the ball away deep in Mmphis territory.

It wasn't Morris who screwed up a short FG attempt that would have tied the game.  It wasn't Morris who screwed up a snap late in the game when the Herd was driving for the winning TD or at least a tying FG.  It wasn't Morris who allowed an opposing QB with a 46% completion percentage to throw for 340 yards with a 67% completion percentage.  It wasn't Morris who failed to cause any opponent turnovers.

It was Morris who, despite the total ineptitude of the defense, the failings of special teams and the costly mistakes by other offensive players, almost singlehandedly kept the Herd in the game.

  • So what you are saying there, FLORIDA HERD FAN, is that it wasn't Morris?

I was wondering about this play as well and thought about what could have been.  The one thing I was wondering though is that it looked like he was trying to dump the ball in a crease in a zone.  Could there have been a safety just out of view from the TV cameras that he was trying to drop the ball in front of?  Maybe, otherwise yes, there should have been 6 points on the board and the cheerleaders should have been getting pressed in the air.

  • For the last 2 years, not on any message board though, I pounded Morris's QB play it was terrible.  This year the one position on the field that we are solid as rock is the QB position.  He turned the corner and he deserves our respect and praise for working hard to get better and lead this team.  No QB throws every ball perfectly every time but IMHO Morris has played lights out this year especially when you consider some of the pass protection he's been given.

  • he has wrs, he looks better.  too bad he doesn't have solid o line or long snapper.  he might look unbelievable.

fans are frustrated, they don't know any better than to blame morris or kueck.  most have backed off of morris because they realize how silly they look for past rants.

  • I don't blame Morris at all.  Heck, he is one of the shining lights on an otherwise dreary season.  I was simply breaking down the play and thinking out loud how it may have changed the outcome.
