Topic: I have no problem with Marshall expanding to 60,000 seats

provided that Marshall University pays for that expansion like the state school paid for theirs.  Get a bond and pay it off over 25 years or so.  Since Marshall didn't have to float a bond for the original stadium (the state did.....per Caperton's promis) it shouldn't be too hard for Marshall to pay for the expansion.....

See Educated fans (Herd Fans) will see this expansion as a feeder for more out of state student enrollment, which will roll over into more revenue. Uneducated fans (__________ enter school here) will see this as a agressive strike on their deteriorating fiefdom. If it is 63,000 seats, we should be guaranteed a 1 for 1, no excuses then.

Bill, you should know if you live where you say you do, that MU has never had much control over if, and/or when, they are going to get something. I do not believe that has changed a great deal now. If, the State, is posturing herself to aid MU, in her infrastructure, we would still have about as much control over this now, as we have had historically. I do not believe you, or I, will have that much imput on what takes place.

Bill does this mean if we get a 63 K stadium. We get a 2-1 with WVU. And Mashall gets the 2 game. I mean, we will have a bigger stadium then and can make more money. Why would we want to offer anything less then a 2-1. We would lose money on a 1-1.   :o

Bill thankyou for your interest, and imput on our fine board(s). You are always more than welcome. I have a question for you Bill, since you seem to have a pretty good handle on what, or what not should happen.

When The University adds their new seating which will include the ususal 5,000, or so seats for visiting teams, do you believe that we should consider having the contractor mold into the seating a corn cob on the base of the seat so that the visiting team may have reason to feel welcome, or even more welcome as the case may be. It is important that we reach out, and develop a compassionate approach toward our visitors here at the University. Your input on this subject is appreciated. We are trying to plan ahead, and our desire is for everyone to have a pleasant game day experience.
