Frankly, East Carolina represents exactly what Marshall University football needed this week.Last Saturday's lopsided loss at Central Florida was nothing short of forgettable. When two punts downed at the 1-yard line are the lone positives from four quarters, well, there you go.Hangover lasted through Mark Snyder's Tuesday press conference. Nearly half of an 18-minute question-and-answer session with Marshall's head coach centered on UCF, not ECU.Snyder certainly took notice, eventually suggesting that he'd like to move on to this week's opponent. His team moved on Sunday, preparing for Conference USA's hottest squad.Taking on the East Division leader, riding five straight C-USA victories, sets up well when looking to shake off one of the season's poorest outings. Motivation and focus shouldn't be issues when Marshall (1-8, 1-4) and East Carolina (6-4, 5-1) kick off at 4:30 p.m. today at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.East Carolina, like UCF, is climbing to C-USA's upper tier. Like UCF, a top shelf tailback leads the way, adding a dash of power in a pass-first league.
