  • Look I know some questions are difficult but wonder what Einstein wrote this...

It was in the Herald Disgrace by the way.

It hardly seems that long ago that Marshall men’s basketball was an event. It was the 1980s and excess was in. Twenty-win seasons came in bunches and attendance was at an all-time high. Dorms emptied on game night, with students showing up early to get into the heads of opponents.

Flash forward almost two decades and Marshall home attendance this season in Cam Henderson Center is at an all-time low. With all the empty seats, the scene is barely an image of its former self.

Does anyone think if maybe we WON SOME DAMN GAMES it might have a bearing on the attendance. With THREE wins the YMCA is too large of a venue.

  • It's defintely not going to get any better this year unless we go on a 5-10 game winning streak, and you still aren't going to see many more butts in the seats. I agree with most of the people here that we should see improvement next year, and then hopefully have a solid team in 07. White's recruits just cannot adjust to Jirsa's system, and his recruits are still learning. We will get better, Jirsa is a good coach and I believe he will have us posting winning records by 07. If he doesn't produce by then, then he's gone.

But as far as attendance goes, I only think it's gonna get worse this year, and it probably won't be much better next year. We will see though, who knows, maybe one of the recruits coming in for next year is that dominate leader/scorer we desperately need.
    GO HERD!!!
