  • We have made no progress this year. Worse now than our 1st game. We are worse this year than last. One more bad team goes toe to toe with us at home.  As long as the same people are running the show, we’ll get worse – not better. How long will we be saying “we just need a couple years”. Last time we were this bad it took us 15 years to get good. Oh there was one positive, we’ve had good attendance…oh wait, that’s because of WVU’s team, not ours. Yeah, glad this mess is over.

  • We finished on a good note. When you have some rain it makes you enjoy the sunshine a little more.
I think next season will be the season we get over the hump. Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps back so you can get a good run to jump over the creek.
Smile at least we have a team on the field to root for.

    WE ARE MARSHALL!!

    Wow.... just wow.

I suppose the 20 years of winning - the years of conference championships and post season play...  are they to be simply shrugged off?  What kind of respect does that show to all the young men that drove Marshall to excellence for 20 consecutive years?  If your attitude prevails among Herd fandome, then perhaps we should reassess why we have a team in the first place.

A few steps back?  It wasn't that long ago Marshall enjoyed winning seasons and went to bowl games.  Seems we've taken more than a few steps back.  Unfortunately, we're so far back from the preverbial creek, by the time we get to it and attempt the jump, we'll be so tired from the run that we won't be able to clear the thing.

Glad Marshall's leadership during the 70s and early 80s weren't satisfied with just fielding a team.  Nope, they kept replacing coaches until they found someone who could win.  I guess they didn't subscribe to your metaphor.  One can't sugar coat a 3-9 season.  It's crap.  Therefore, I suggest we stop attempting cover that turd with chocolate because, in the end, a chocolate covered turd still tastes like $%!^.

  • I am tired of the threads that say we should be glad to just field a team.   We are way past that type of thinking.  We had 20 winning years in a row and a top 10 finish a few years back...accepting this crap is rediculous.

  • AHHHHHH c'mon folks.  We are the bottom feeders in the conf. playing another bottom dweller, have them up by 21 at half and find a way to almost lose the f/b game.  WOW, how impressed I am with the present coaching staff.   Can you say half time adjustments?  Can you look at Wingate and Hall and objectively look...........look at the future......that's quite a future...........

I am sorry, but I get sick and tired of the positive, or how do you say?   The extremely overly positive posters.  Hey, I have just witnessed one of the most unimpressive 3 year stints of coaching I have witnessed in my 5 years (or maybe was it 43 years?) of following MU football.....YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!!!!  I have tried and tried to be somewhat objective but all i see in Mr. Snyder is a cute , nice guy, lip service  smart arssss.

Your team's ability to show discipline on the field are reflections of the head coach's ability to coach, and it just doesn't show....  I have no problems with the young fellows out on the field.  They play their heart out, but when you have someone attempting to lead you over on the sideline that is scared to death to lead an aggresive, no holds barred type of product, we will continue to be a sub par, or at best, mediocre program.

Go ahead....keep Snyder and the rest of the staff on for the remaining years!!!!!  Our program will again be playing for championships by the time our grandchildren (which are presently not conceived or only todlers) retire.

Anyhow, hope all of you had a wonderful turkey day.

  • It is my contention that a good coach would have had us in a bowl game in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

It's time for Snyder to "step up". There is simply no excuse for losing to UNH, Memphis and USM this year.

I want him to succeed, but I never expected that it would take him this long to shake the "greenness" as a head coach.

He will be back next year, and anything less than a bowl game should end his coaching career at Marshall.

  • Our pass coverage looked really, really bad. These guys are good athletes...but I sure saw a lot of guys who had no idea of where the ball was...there were also a lot of long developing routes...which is the product of a dicey pass rush.  It is also worth noting that Harvey, Kitchens and Passmore hardly played at all. I think coach played a lot of seniors a ton yesterday...and it was great...but I'm not sure you can completely judge this team by yesterday's game or this season.

  • It is my contention that an average coach would have had this team in a bowl game the last three years.  Our record is getting worse and Snyder keeps firing coordinators...the problem is at the top not with coordinators...a blind dog could cover the receivers better than our DBs.

  • This is not a fair comparison: the dogs have the sense of smell. Our coaching staff doesn't have that sense.

  • I would really feel sorry for them if they had the sense of smell.

  • After the year last year.  I'm just numb.  I don't even get pissed off anymore.  Pretty sad huh?  I just don't see much hope for a while.
