  • I know others have noticed this. This has to be corrected next year. Our DB's are looking directly at the reciever, and never for the ball. Heck, there have been a few instances where the ball has actually HIT the DB, who could have caught it if he would have just turned around for a split second.

Our DB's won't be respected at all if we don't play for the interception at least some of the time. You've gotta play the ball!

  • When a Def. End leads your team in interceptions, then something is wrong.  Ryland Wilson take a bow.  The DBs can't catch what they can't see.  This type of pass defense and a poor pass rush are why we have a losing record.

  • I was in the Massey Energy box while screaming about this. I got a few wierd looks, but eventually people started agreeing with me. They have the best view in the house, and it's HORRIBLY obvious from up there.

  • The guy sitting behind me had a great idea-- as a public service to our DB's, he said he should blow an airhorn every time the ball is in the air. Then, just like Pavlov's dog, they would know to turn around.

  • I know you all probably know this, but if you've ever played football, whether it's organized or you’re playing flag with your friends - when the receiver is beating you it is almost impossible to play the ball. First you have to get coverage on the receiver, then you can worry about the ball. If you are huffing and puffing just to keep up with your guy, you don’t have the luxury of looking for the ball as well. We’ve got to get better athletes here or our current one’s have to drastically improve.

Agreed, but our guys are pretty darn fast, and stay with most *i said most* recievers. The plays that get me are the ones where the coverage is right on, and you (them) should be glancing up for the ball. I agree, if you're outright getting beat, you just keep up with the reciever and hope to break it up.

  • I don't give a d*mn if it's athletes or coaching, just get it fixed. The fact that Snyder was a DB in college and D Coordinator and we are this bad in the secondary is totally unacceptable.
