Seems to me run-spread teams have had some success and shouldn't be blown off simply because they're "different" and "not recognizable".
The NCAA continues to limit practice time. The run-spread offense is easy to teach and easy to pick up. Complicated offenses can be installed much more easily in the NFL because their practice time is unlimited.
I'm not saying we should install a run-spread. I'm just saying that type of offense shouldn't be dismissed simply because it's not "standard". Run-spread offense won the national championship last year and will probably be playing for it this year. It has won the last three C-USA championships (Houston, Tulsa, Louisville).
