  • According to the HD.  There is your excuse for why he has played so bad.  He had to much on his shoulders and he has been hurt.

  • I hate it that Cann is hurt, but considering this game is meaningless for us anyway, I think it would be good to give Anderson, Garner, and/or Berdain some experience.

  • no one is happy, i'm sure cann isn't either.

snyder would tell you, he and staff chose to go with the young guy for the future.  looks like cann wasn't quite ready.  i'm not going to bust on him.  i do wish one of the other guys had gotten a chance.

that said, it makes sense if that's snyder's thinking, stick with cann all the way.  now we are eliminated and he's hurt, let someone else play.

if berdain or garner light it up..........folks will be happy with the win, then angry that another season slipped by.

  • No other coach would stick with a QB that has played as poorly as Cann.

  • I don't think a change will be made.  It is just painful to see that the attendance and support will drop so dramatically.  Kopp is not a supporter of athletics.

How is it you think isn't a supporter of athletics? I have seen him and his wife at EVERY game this year, home and away. I see him at every basketball game, including the C-USA tournament. I see him at women's basketball and baseball too.
I saw him with the Chancellor of ECU taking a tour of the ECU baseball stadium 2 years ago, asking all sorts of questions.

no plans for IPF, NO Plan for baseball stadium, contract extension for a guy who didnt earn it, didnt get rid of a guy who is slowly destroying the pride of huntington over the last almost 30 yrs (football team), his legacy will be he did more harm (by turning a blind eye) to athletics than any other president who over saw the program

  • I really hate to say this, but the way Cann has been playing, we can't do much worse.  According to the Charleston Gazette, Cann has completed 17 passes out of 41 attempts these past two games.  That's rounds out to be only a 41% completion rate.  I'm not counting him out and hope he improves, but we really, really, really need to recruit some QBs this off season so that we have more options at the QB position.  I was really hoping he would be much better the second half of the season, but he seems to have regressed if the last two games are any indication.

Snyder said during his last few call in shows that are only weakness will be the lack of WR.  I agree with you, we need to start grooming a solid backup QB now. Even if Cann recovers and has a solid season next year there is always the risk of injury. As it stands now, no one appears ready to step in.
