They are scared. They know that sometime we are going to beat them on the field. They dont want that and are so scared they will say anything to divert from the fact that they can be beaten. No perfect game needed. A good game and execution will be the downfall of them  seeing we are no longer that little brother who couldnt beat them at anything.

I am Dave Merinar class of 89 and I have seen WVU fall to us first hand in other sports. And I believe!  Who else is with me brothers and sisters?

I don't think they are scared. And I do think they expect us to beat them, sooner or later. I think if we were them, we also would not be worried about a team that might beat us once in six tries. How much respect did we give any of the MAC teams that got lucky on us once over the eight or so years were were there. That is how much respect they will give us until we do more than beat them once in a blue moon.

They know they can be beaten, just like we know some day we will beat them. That won't change the relationship until we demonstrate more than a once in a blue moon win.

I believe.  The only thing that will keep it from happening is if they don't play.

They feel like they beat ECU by 10+ and we lost to ECU by 4 so they have us covered. Plus they saw what VT did to us and they are expecting a blow out.

I hope they expect to blow us out and just go through the motions. That's what happened to them against Pitt in 07.

Most of all I hope our staff and players are jacked up and believe they can win.

If I didn't think we could win, I wouldn't even watch the game.  I agree that we could have beat them last year, and I think that we can beat them this year if we execute and don't act intimidated.  WVU is susceptible to turning the ball over and we are pretty good at taking it away.  We will need a devensive or special teams score to win.  Go Herd!!

I think we could have beat them about 5 out of 6 during the time they were ducking us. It will happen. That's the thing that's funny about college sports is that if you play long enough you become competitive, especially once you start sloppin at the BCS trough. Look at cincy/louisville/so fla...

I agree.  A win isn't going to be good enough.  However, either a blowout win or a good consistent showing the rest of the season would do it.  They have had good reason for not having respect for us.  We have had how many losing seasons now?  5 including the loss to Cincy in 04?  Beating them won't be good enough, but being a great football team would.  When we are great, we will know it.  They will know it.  The country will know it.  I don't think we're there yet though.  You never know though.  Maybe we start Saturday?
