HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University football likely will require a pair of poised "quarterbacks" to upset West Virginia on Saturday.

Signal-caller Brian Anderson obviously must deliver, repeating last week's efficient performance at Tulane, a 31-10 victory. Quarterbacking the offensive line, meanwhile, will be center Chad Schofield, directing fellow linemen against an active Mountaineer defense.

Anticipating defensive schemes will prove essential when the Thundering Herd (4-2, 2-1 Conference USA) visits WVU (4-1, 1-0 Big East). Kickoff at Milan Puskar Stadium is 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on WCHS in Huntington-Charleston and ESPN Gameplan.

West Virginia offers multiple defensive looks, evidenced by last week's convincing 34-13 victory at Syracuse. Acknowledging formations and potential blitzes will be stressed during game week. Both Anderson and Schofield prominently figure.

"He does a great job of studying each week," Anderson said of his junior center. "He really knows what's going on and he's really heady there at center, which is a good thing. It's a perfect position for him to play.
