ANTHONY HANSHEWThe Herald-DispatchHUNTINGTON -- Spring practice surrounding Marshall University football hardly is lacking for activity. There's the matter of first-year head coach Doc Holliday and his assistants preparing for the 2010 season. Four of the Thundering Herd's all-time greats -- Chad Pennington, Byron Leftwich, Randy Moss and John Wade -- will be inducted into Marshall's Athletic Hall of Fame during the Big Green Scholarship Foundation Banquet on April 23, the eve of the Green-White Game.In between, Marshall coaches will host a women's clinic and coaches' clinic. The women's clinic will take place on April 9, followed by the coaches' clinic, inviting high school coaches throughout the Tri-State and elsewhere, on April 16."The women's clinic allows all of the ladies around town to learn more about football and spend time with our football coaches," Holliday said. "They'll get an opportunity to see what's inside Marshall football and learn about our student-athletes' experience."The April 16 coaches' clinic features legendary college coach Earl Bruce."To have Earl Bruce here is unbelievable," Holliday said. "Not only did he have big-time success at the college level at Ohio State but he had tremendous success at the high school level.
