  • I think their are better risks out there..  What happens when his "bloods" decide to come up and visit???
No, stay away from this one.

"I am for a government that is rigorously frugal and simple. Were we directed from Washington when to sow, when to reap, we should soon want bread."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
"I predict future hapiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."-Thomas Jefferson

  • Does this mean that section 103 will now be the bloods section? I trust Phil to make the right call. I dont think he or Doc would risk bringing in a kid who may cause more harm than good - right at the time they are trying to instill a positive, team first mind set in the program. That being said, this kid should get no second chances once on campus. If he even shits wrong, he should be gone.

I dont care how skilled a kid is, winning at all costs is not worth it.

  • I tell you what....

If I had decided to take this kid....I would have, in my head (psychologically), mentally prepared my self to send him packing before he ever reached campus.

I would prepare his release, some kind of official letter that kick him off the team for not obeying team rules.....Id have it sitting on my desk signed by me (as coach) and when he came in to school this fall I would show it to him....and tell him this is his chance but he is already one step away from being back out the door.

The letter isnt official until is "signed AND delivered".  "Ive got it signed and its going to sit right here, and but its ready for me to hand it to you as soon as things go down the wrong path."

Thats the negative side....on the positive side Id set up a contract with him with some incentives and rewards that might appeal to his confidence/ego...whatever.  Some things that are with in NCAA guidelines...no money or cars or blah blah blah....

This way he gets some positive motivation as well.  The release letter would be for me as well as him...so I wouldnt allow my self to waffle on pulling the trigger in the event this kid caused a fiasco on my watch.
